Senior Business Development Executive (Corporate Clients), JHB

You want to join our ambitious and dynamic Corporate Sales team in Johannesburg, and work closely with our Marketing, Education and Finance teams to sell our range of world-class programmes to prospective corporate clients. You’re great at building and maintaining relationships with corporates, and we want you to be a shining ambassador for the Red & Yellow brand in all that you do.

Your primary role will be to deliver corporate sales and revenue for Red & Yellow, find and develop new business opportunities, and help our school grow from strength to strength. To achieve this, you will need to identify and build relationships with new clients, sell courses, programmes and related services to them, and to continue to develop long-term, mutually-beneficially and fruitful relationships with them (and it is critical that they feel the same about us!).

A typical day may look like

  • Identify business opportunities.
  • Prospect for clients and build lead lists.
  • Build a robust pipeline of leads, opportunities and contacts.
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your own network and personal brand.
  • Identify potential decision makers within a client or prospective client’s organisation.
  • Prepare and present credentials, pitches, proposals and quotations.
  • Negotiate and close deals.
  • Convert corporate leads into new clients, and opportunities into closed deals.
  • Build new corporate client relationships, and growing existing client relationships.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure that clients are happy with Red & Yellow, our products, and our delivery.
  • Maintain an extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
  • Research and build relationships with executives, board members, L&D Managers and HR Managers.
  • Present an image that mirrors that of the client.
  • Present new programs and projects and enhance existing relationships.
  • In collaboration with Marketing, use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop Red & Yellow’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Submit progress reports and ensure data is complete and accurate and is entered into and managed within Red & Yellow’s internal systems.
  • Initiate marketing strategies to target prospective clients.
  • Develop business development strategies and manage sales opportunities.
  • Set sales targets and define strategies to achieve these targets.
  • Maintaining contact with a network of influential people.
  • Ensure all contracts with client are updated timeously and reviewed when appropriate.

  • Proven corporate business development and sales experience, ideally working in a highly competitive, high volume sales environment.
  • Prior experience working in or with education, marketing or technology businesses highly advantageous.

  • Matric with exemption essential, undergraduate qualification (marketing or education) a real advantage.
