A huge congratulations to Tyla Lottering, Jaden Thompson, Nina van Wyk, and Chloe Vos, whose bold thinking and creative brilliance earned them a Wood Pencil at the prestigious D&AD New Blood Awards 2025 in London. Guided by their lecturers, Heloise Bottomley, Liz Pienaar and Craig Strydom, these talented students have been recognised at one of the world’s most prestigious creative award ceremonies.

Four outstanding young creatives are recognised on a global platform

At Red & Yellow, creativity is something we unleash in our students. And the world is taking notice.

We’re proud to announce that a team of our students has brought home a prestigious Wood Pencil at the D&AD New Blood Awards 2025 in London, one of the most competitive showcases of emerging creative talent globally.

Even more remarkable? Red & Yellow is the only tertiary institution in South Africa to win an award at this year’s New Blood Awards. This achievement is a testament to our uncompromising standard of excellence and our belief in combining Commercial Logic & Creative Magic to empower future leaders.

The winning campaign, “Xbox: Never Logged Off”, celebrates how gaming reshapes the way players experience the world around them. Through sharp, copy-led ads placed both online and out-of-home, the work captures the hilarious, relatable inner monologue of gamers navigating real life where game logic lingers.
