The Nedbank IMC Conference 2020, was the first virtual marketing conference of its kind in South Africa. This years theme, “Marketing works. More than ever. Work it” saw 18 influential speakers presenting their thoughts on the current state of marketing, the future of marketing and how brands can successfully navigate this difficult period.
The conference promised a series of 15 minute “Ted Talk” style presentations by marketing experts from a number of different sectors, presenting from Cape Town, Johannesburg, London and Miami. Caitlin Ferreira, a Senior Lecturer and Head of Section at Red & Yellow was asked to write the white paper for the conference.
This paper summarises five key marketing themes from the conference and is sure to help marketers struggling to navigate the uncertain world we find ourselves in.
The themes are as follows:

- The rise of the conscious consumer
- Change is inevitable
- The power of creativity in the marketing industry
- The future of the marketing industry
