Red & Yellow Students Land 30 Loeries & 24 Pendorings Nominations

Our students have once again impressed the judges at two of Africa’s biggest creative awards show, earning 30 nominations for the 2025 Loerie Awards and 24 nominations for the Pendoring Awards.

This year, Red & Yellow students have proven once again why they are among the most exciting young creatives in South Africa. With 30 nominations across multiple competitive categories at the prestigious Loerie Awards, their work is standing shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the industry’s best.

From Digital Crafts and Integrated Campaigns to Illustration, Typography, Logos & Identity, Radio Commercials, Out of Home, Fabric Design, and more, the sheer range of categories reflects the depth of talent and creative thinking nurtured within Red & Yellow’s classrooms and studios.

Red & Yellow is also the most nominated school at this year's Pendorings, with an incredible 24 student finalists. Categories include Identity Programmes, TV, Cinema and Online Advertising, Motion Graphic Design, Outdoor Media, Design for Digital, Student Print, Design & OOH, and more.

A Celebration of Student Talent

The nominated students represent some of Red & Yellow’s flagship programmes — from the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication to the Advanced Diploma in Copywriting. These qualifications are designed to balance strategic thinking and creative craft, and the Loeries and Pendorings recognition highlights the value of this integrated approach.

This year’s nominated projects range from bold integrated campaigns for global brands like XBOX and Bumble, to thought-provoking design work tackling public service and social impact themes. Students have also shone in the craft-focused categories, with innovative explorations in typography, illustration, and fabric design.

Each nomination is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and resilience of Red & Yellow students, as well as the dedicated lecturers who guide them in transforming ideas into award-worthy campaigns. “Awards aren’t just validation or a shiny goal to chase — in advertising, they’re a kind of currency. On the job market, they carry serious weight,” says Red & Yellow Copywriting Lecturer Craig Strydom, who taught and mentored many of this year's nominees.

The Loeries winners will be announced during Loeries Creative Week, taking place from 6–10 October, and Pendoring winners will be announced in November this year.

Until then, we’re holding thumbs for every one of our talented students!
