Senior manager or executive with genuine decision-making authority, typically 10 or more years of experience, operating in a South African or broader African business context. Participants must already use AI tools in their work; the programme depends on applied tension, and cohorts with no direct AI exposure lose it. Each participant brings one live decision domain to work on throughout the programme.

Course Curriculum
Explore why leaders can either trust AI too readily or reject it too quickly. Learn to recognise automation bias and algorithm aversion, assess whether your trust matches an AI system’s actual reliability, and determine when to trust, challenge or override an AI-generated recommendation.
Learn how to test AI-generated analysis before it influences a consequential decision. You’ll examine common failure modes including hallucination, false precision, selection bias and sycophancy, and apply a structured method for surfacing assumptions, testing evidence and identifying what may be missing.
Examine what happens when AI becomes embedded across teams, processes and systems. Explore how sustained reliance on AI can affect collective judgement, constructive challenge and executive capability, and map where AI should inform, influence or act within a decision process.
Explore what can be delegated to AI and what must remain distinctly human. You’ll examine responsibility gaps, meaningful human control and the risk of accountability becoming diffuse, then clarify decision rights, human oversight and ownership when AI is involved.
