Anyone can point a camera and press the shutter. The difference between that snapshot and a photograph worth keeping comes down to two things: knowing how to work the camera, and knowing how to edit what you shot. This eleven-week online course teaches both, from shooting in full manual to finishing your images in Adobe Lightroom Classic.
The course runs in the order photographers actually work: camera settings and shooting modes, the exposure triangle of aperture, shutter speed and ISO, focus and depth of field, light and composition, and shooting portraits and products to a brief. It then moves into Lightroom Classic for culling, editing and export, and looks at the place of AI in a modern editing workflow.
You shoot and edit your own photographs every week, and finish by producing a photographic series on a theme you choose, delivered as a finished set for your portfolio.
Good preparation is less about owning the best gear and more about knowing what you have and setting it up properly. In this module you confirm your camera meets the course requirements, install and open Lightroom Classic, and build a folder structure that keeps originals and edits apart. You finish with working kit, Lightroom running, and a workspace ready to go.
By the end of the course, you'll be able to:
