Alumni Feature Nina Daniel-Gruber Creative Director at Yellow Hub

Nina completed her Diploma in Graphic Design and Art Direction in 1995. She’s had an astounding career in advertising thus far, working for agencies such as Ogilvy, Saatchi & Saatchi Brandsrock, Zoom Advertising and MullenLowe, to name but a few.

She takes us back to her colourful days with the school and some highlights to how her career was shaped with us:

1. How has Red & Yellow contributed to shaping your career success?
   It was literally the catapult into the world of advertising – I started working at Ogilvy before I even graduated. In those days R&Y was run exactly like an agency so integrating into the real world of advertising was no great shock – particularly having been ‘educated’ by Brian and Alan!
2. What is the one thing that stands out from your time with us?
   Being told by Brian that “that’s the worst piece of f***ing advertising I’ve ever seen” – running out of his office in a state, doing it again and then getting the top mark for that project!
3.  What do you believe is critical for career success in the 21st century?
   Adapt, adopt, evolve – constantly! Travel. Be a sponge! And never ever never say “but it’s not my job!’
4. What is your superpower?

   My age – and with it, my experience! ????????
