In 2022, Camilla’s “Bride Armour” campaign also took home gold. This impactful collaboration for client Black Label with designer Suzanne Heyns aims to redefine the concept of marriage by addressing the prevalent issue of gender-based violence in the country. Taking a stand against this critical problem, “Bride Armour” offers a unique solution – a specially designed wedding dress embedded with cutting-edge self-defense technology. The dress is equipped with sensors that detect aggressive movements, triggering a non-lethal electric shock to repel potential attackers. Beyond just a dress, it symbolizes a new era of empowerment for brides, sending a strong message that they have the right to protect themselves on their special day and throughout their lives. Ogilvy South Africa’s “Bride Armour” campaign has sparked conversations, raised awareness, and inspired change, making a significant impact on the fight against gender-based violence in the country.
